Lieutenant Colonel Lionel Lee Hector (USA, Ret.) is a sole practitioner
in Watertown, New York with a practice dedicated the needs of the average person
and small business operations. His areas of practice include matrimonial law (divorce),
real estate and small business transactions including litigation in these areas.
Lionel Lee Hector was born a long time ago in East Hampton, New York.
Subsequent to his graduation from high school in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and
an aborted effort to obtain a degree in theology from Atlantic Christian College
(now Barton College) in Wilson, North Carolina, Hector enlisted in the Army
in the rank of private in 1963. Subsequently selected to attend Officer Candidate
School (OCS), he was commissioned a second lieutenant of infantry in May of 1967.
In the course of his military career, Hector served overseas in the Republics of Korea,
the Republic of Vietnam and the Republic of Germany. He is a
graduate of the Army's Airborne School, the JFK Special Warfare School,
Infantry Officers Advanced Course, the Army's Command and General Staff College
and the Department of Defense Language Institute. His military awards include
the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal, the
Army Commendation Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He has also been
awarded the U.S Army parachute badge, the Vietnamese parachute badge and
Combat Infantryman's Badge
In addition to a Juris Doctor earned at the State University of New York
at Buffalo in 1998, Hector has an undergraduate degree in political science
from Columbus State University, Columbus, Georgia and a graduate degree
in international relations from the University of Kansas at Lawrence, Kansas. As
a result of both his civilian and military educational endeavors, Hector speaks
English, Canadian (eh?) and German fluently and French and Spanish
well enough to find a bar or a bathroom when necessary.
If all of that were not enough, Lionel Lee Hector also holds an Federal
Aviation Administration Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) license, a United States
Parachute Association jumpmaster certificate, a New York State Advanced
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-CC) certificate and Advanced
Amateur Radio License KG2BP. He plays the trombone, the piano
and the guitar (the latter about as well as he speaks Spanish).
The Hector Law office has existed in Jefferson County since 1998 and
has served over a thousand clients all over the world in that time.
"I am proud to be a member of the legal profession and particularly
pleased that I was able to come to this profession so late in
life with a little broader perspective and a bit more life
experience than most of my younger colleagues. That
said, my pleasure in the practice of law is
occasionally diminished by the fact that
some problems, no matter how urgent,
simply do not lend themselves
to resolution in law."
